use ctrl+c to exit insert mode in vim

Found an interesting post on stackoverflow about vim. One of the tricks there was use ctrl+c instead of esc to exit insert mode, handy, love it.

Effectiveness of a project manager

Learned something interesting in lecture today:

If a project manager scores

• 80% for knowing what to do
• 80% for knowing how to do
• 80% for motivation skills
• 80% for communication skills

Then his effectiveness = 80% * 80% * 80% * 80% = 40%

When we’re young

今天早上送走了一个韩国朋友Annie, 他去Adelaide 继续她在澳洲剩余的行程。

她说她很开心我们能送她。她来的时候什么人也不认识，住的地方也没有，好在在机场认识了一个人，帮助她住下来。现在走了，已经有可以怀念的朋友们。

年轻的我们总是这么无惧无畏，身上带着不多的钱便可以向着未知的地方走去。我们拿着青春的本钱和未来勇敢地赌博，无论最后是输是赢，都挣得了一堆回忆。再见Annie，我们会再见的。

rejected

Melb uni 拒绝了我的申请，说因为我undergrad读的不是civil engineering, 所以不接受我去读strutures. 如果是这样的理由的话，其他大学的structures 也会用同样的理由拒绝我的。我转行去building structures的希望变得渺小了。

ANU offer

今天拿到ANU 的master offer了，但那个不是我最想读的课程。Melb uni 的offer 还没来，要加点耐性等了。

之前在看master的课程，去到The University of Western Australia 的网站，发现他们的网页设计得很好，字体和配色选得很好，而且界面也简洁，他们没有我想要读到课程，但希望以后去他们的网页时，他们的界面设计还是同样的出色。

Holiday

学校放假一周，总是想着在假期学多点， 但到头来都是睡一周懒觉，sigh.

I read a post on Freakonomics today, which led me to The Yale Book of Quotations. I am pretty amazed at how the web can organise discrete info these days.

最近总是在想是否要读master的事，如果要读，读什么，什么时候读；一想到这些看似trivial的决定会影响到以后一生的生活方式时，便会不自觉地犹豫起来。看来计划人生就像计划经济一样恐怖。
