Last Friday

May 18, 2009

I’m now sitting in a computer lab at uni, trying to do an aerostructures assignment, but can’t help thinking of last Friday’s aerostructures exam. It was the most depressing exam I can remember by far.

Firstly, I forgot to bring a calculator because I don’t usually use one, which left my last question un-calculated. And I read 55 as 550, and calculated a question in head, which made it entirely wrong.

The lecturer didn’t hand out exam papers, this time, he’s creative and just projected it on screen. And it happened that I broke my glasses a week ago and still was waiting for the new ones to come. I had to sit up to the stage to do the exam.

As I was doing the exam sitting on the stage in front of a PC, I moved my leg, and kicked the lecturer’s USB drive, on the screen, MS windows said,’hardware removed unexpectedly.’ and everyone laughed. The lecturer said,’Shit, you broke it, told you to be careful.’ I felt guilty, terribly. Then spent 15 minutes thinking where to get a new one if it’s really broken. Luckily it turned out that it wasn’t.

One single exam, how could it be so dramatic… I didn’t even manage to finish the last question, my high-distinction hope, is, gone, with the wind.
